All of the banking
institutions are located on Avenida
dos Arrecifes in the center of Sao Miguel
do Gostoso. Please note that even though there are several
ATMs in Sao Miguel do Gostoso when the town is busy
there is often a shortage of cash held within these
ATMS. In this case you would need to visit the Bank
of Brasil in Touros to obtain cash (details at the end
of this section).
Bank of
Brasil, which is located on Avenida
dos Arrecifes, next to the Health Center, operates an
ATM from 6am until 9pm. This
ATM only accepts Banco do Brasil cards. The limit for
the daily cash withdrawal is R$1,000.00.
Caixa Ecomonica, which
is located on Avenida dos Arrecifes, inside the Lottery
Shop, operates an ATM. This ATM is open from
7am until 6pm.
Banco do Bradesco,
which is located on Avenida dos Arrecifes, more of less
opposite
to the post office, operates
an ATM. This ATM accepts domestic and international
cards.
Bank of Brasil, Touros,
which is located next to the catholic church in the
center of town just
down from the tourist center, is open from 9:00am until
1.00pm. This bank has an ATM area. The ATMs
here acccepts all major international
credit/debit cards. The limit for the daily cash
withdrawal is R$1,000.00. The telephone

The
Post Office, which is located on the main street, Avenida
dos Arrecifes at the junction with Rua Praia da
Xepa, is open from 8.00am to mid-day and then 14.00-17.00
from Monday to Friday.

The
municipality health center provides
dental, clinical, emergency and
laboratory services. At the weekends
there are on-duty doctors 24-hours.
For more serious health cases there is
a hospital in Touros, about 30 minutes
drive from Sao Miguel do Gostoso. More
comprehensive hospital services are
available in Natal. The medical staff generally
only speak Portuguese.

Mobile Phones: There is
currently only one provider of a mobile
phone services which is CLARO. There is a CLARO office
on Rua dos Douradas, next to the municipality town hall.

PHARMACIES
There
are currently two pharmacies located
on Avenida dos Arrecifes in the center
of town close to the health center.
They open around 7am and close around 7pm.
One is located next to the Bradesco ATM, the other is
located just after the Supermarket Texeira.

INTERNET
There
are several internet cafes in Sao Miguel do Gostoso.
There is one more or less opposite to the Bank
of Bradesco ATM. Several
pousadas and restaurants also offer access to the internet,
sometimes free but sometimes paid.

local police station is located at Rua
dos Tubarões, 26. The telephone number
is (084) 3263-4991. In an emergency
call 190.

There are no
facilities for currency exchange in
Sao Miguel do Gostoso. In Bank of Brasil
Touros you can change some currencies over the counter.

Both the
catholic church and the Assembly of
God offer celebrations mid-week
starting at 6.00pm and on the weekends
in both the mornings and in the
evenings. Both are located on the main road,
Avenida dos Arrecifes.

Fuel
such as gasoline, methanene and diesel
can be found at the petrol station on
Avendia dos Arrecifices near the
entrance to Sao Miguel do Gostoso town. It offers
services from 06.00am to 8.00pm.
Credit cards are accepted although
there has been cases in the past of
this service being temporarily
suspended.
