Maceiós, according to
reports by local dwellers,
were in the past small
concentrations of water
formed by during the high
tides in the Maceió beach
area. These Maceiós do not
exist today since the
formation of dunes have
impeded the entrance of
the sea water however to
remember that this
phenomena existed in the
past the community has
decided to retain the name
Maceió.
