Sr. Severino Gomes da
Silva, more popularly
known as Sr. 20 after
receiving the number 1020
as his army
identification, tells that
in 1994 Sao Miguel do
Gostoso hosted an army
platoon, of which he was
part, on a regular
exercise. At that time,
Xêpa, according to his
report, meant (in military
terms) food. Sr. 20
recalls that the leftovers
of the soldiers food were
distributed to the local
population in the area
that is today known as
Xepa beach.
