 Congratulations
to the
Território Mato Grande through
the town of São Miguel
do Gostoso
!!!! From the
22 organisations participating in the Turismo Melhor Program in the state of
Rio Grande do Norte, 7 were
certified with the stamp and amongst them 4 were from São
Miguel do Gostoso
(57,4%). These companies were the first from São Miguel do Gostoso to
partake in such a program. We hope that in 2010 these
organisations can keep up the good work and the quality of thier
services and the other organisations of Território Mato Grande
to be part of this program. The partnership between the participants
and SEBRAE/RN, throughout
the project for “Território
Mato Grande” and “Turismo Melhor – quality
in turistic services”,
will contribute to a responsible and sustainable development in the region.

and 28th 2009.
The objective of their visit was to make a reportage on
what has attracted so many people to the town of Sao Miguel do Gostoso.

 The Espaço Tear proudly
welcome once more in Sao
Miguel do Gostoso the dancer, choreographer and pedagogist, Etienne Frey for
a week long workshop where he will be teaching dancing to the
local population. During
six days several members of the various projects will be participating
in the workshops. On Friday, 23rd October, there will be a presentation
with all of the participants at Xepa beach. View

 The
III EMA (Municipal Youth Encounter) will take place on
24th
and 25th of
October. The objective is to contribute to the social debate over
the main issues for the Sao Miguel do Gostoso youth community. The
meeting is aimed to strengthen and articulate the youth groups through
educational actions directed at social and political participation
to defend and promote its rights.
On Sunday 18 of
October the Estate committee of the Green Party in the Estate of
Rio Grande do Norte assissted the swarning ceremony of
the Municipal committee of the town of São Miguel
do Gostoso. The cerimony had the presence of Mrs.Miriam de Souza,
mother of the Mayor of Natal Micarla de Souza, and the politians
such as Edivan Martins, president elected for the next term
of the Office of the Municipal Legislators
for Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte.
 POUSADA MAR DE ESTRELAS is
throwing its annual Saint John's celebration in its area of events
on June 13th at 9 PM. The event will be animated by Mr. Zé More
and his band. The event will also have typical regional food. We
hope to see you all there.
 Heco
Produções and the Gostoso community produce a video
documentary in and about Sao Miguel do Gostoso. Together
with the video documentary, a book will be produced and workshops
delivered to the local youth. The ideia is to register the local
history and the development of the region trough the life experience
of the elders.
 It
started on Dec 13th with a bingo for St Luzia and will extend until
Jan 31st the oficial Gostoso summer programme. All the events will
take place at Xepa
beach around 07:00 PM.
On this coming Dec 27 and 28th there will be a presentation of the
Auto
de São
Miguel a play that
tells the life of the Saint and will be performed by the cultural
groups of Gostoso. The picture above is of the last week's presentation:

September 2008. On a sunny afternoon with a number of participants
as never seen before, the catholic church of Sao
Miguel do Gostoso,
as part of the celebration of its patron, Saint Michael de Arcanjou,
celebrated the marriage of 54 couples. Various other cultural activities
have also occurred during this past 9 days. On Monday, the 29th,
the celebrations will come to a close with the Catholic community
of Sao Miguel do Gostoso witnessing the elevation of their church
to the status of parish with the presence of senior bishop.

On a sunny day with lots of fun the youth, that makes up the popular group of
street theater of the NGO Espaço TEAR, performed plays that celebrated
60 years of the declaration of Human Rights
on the main streets of Gostoso. Throughout the day various other activities took place. The entire event
came to a close with a candle-lit celebration of Human Rights.

Rally dos Sertões stirs up São Miguel do Gostoso and
crowns Brazilian José Hélio the fourth time winner
of the moto category and Robert Naji

the second time winner of the quadrocycle category.
 May
2008: The Community of Sao Miguel do Gostoso, fires
one more shot against Dengue. The campaign, on May 14th, saw
various members of the community, led by the Sanitation Departement,
collecting plastic bags, bottles and any sort of litter around
town which could hold water and breed mosquitoes. The campaign is
aimed at ensuring the Dengue mosquito does not reach the community
of Sao Miguel do Gostoso. No cases have been confirmed.
The major of
Sao Miguel do
Gostoso,
Miguel Texeria,
received in Brasilia the first prize for Fiscal
Responsibility. The municipality was third in the
State of Rio Grande do Norte in the same
category.
